Freeform Friday

Tonight we're going to a wine tasting that friends are hosting at their newly remodeled house. Good wine and conversation is just what I need to unwind at the end of this long week. I hope you have a cozy weekend planned, and I hope you enjoy my favorite links from the past week.

Get Out's Oscar nominations are a welcome surprise from the stodgy Academy.

I love the Shib Sibs' videos (and I extra love them because Maia was my student once upon a time).

This was our jam in class today.

A fascinating story about Malcolm X's childhood in Michigan.

Eat your heart out, Pence.

It's not like you needed something official to prove this, but here it is if you need to hear from the pros.

Have to say I'm shocked but not surprised by this cheat sheet on how to be an empathetic human.

Freeform Friday

Over dinner, my son recently asked what our favorite day of the week is, and without hesitating I replied, "Saturday!" The lack of pressure that Saturday brings with it is an elixir for the soul, and when we get a rare four-day weekend, it feels like we get three Saturdays in a row. Ever grateful for this extra-long weekend, we're taking full advantage with a short road trip to visit family, dinner with friends, and an exciting show with the kids.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, and I hope you enjoy my favorite links from the past week.

Freeform Friday

We've been living our best hygge life in the midst of this swirling, whirling snow storm -- snowshoeing in the woods, movies in front of the fire, and cuddles on the couch. Of course, this is all a lead up to my book club meeting this weekend for a hygge-filled afternoon discussing The Little Book of Hygge. If you haven't read it yet, you must. Especially if you live in a cold climate. It's a total game changer.

I hope you have a cozy weekend, and I hope you enjoy my favorite links from the past week.

Freeform Friday

This weekend I'm hosting a girl's movie night, and it gives me an excuse to make two cookies from my new recipe book. Otherwise, I'm just deliriously happy to be at home after a loooong work week. So cozy. So cuddly.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, and I hope you enjoy my favorite links from the past week.
